Ritual Beauty was founded on my passion for connecting and helping people. The satisfaction gained from being there on one’s most meaningful day is a gift, and it never gets old. 

My approach to beauty starts with listening to my client’s wants and concerns and then delivering what they have in mind in a fun way. It’s not about me; I am here to guide them to their vision with elegance and tasteful makeup. 

When I first meet a future client, I like to ask a lot of questions to get to know where they’re coming from. It’s important for me to understand their comfort level with makeup. I also want to understand their style and even their culture. 

My background as an artist is from all over, but derives mostly weddings and beauty pageants in the US and UK. With close to 20 years in the makeup industry, I have spent that time perfecting my bridal style. Giving brides that bespoke bridal makeup they’ve been dreaming of.

Since moving from California to Tokyo in 2018, I have expanded my repertoire to include makeup for family and maternity photo shoots, international commercials, creative and special effects. I have seen it all—and there is nothing I can’t handle. I pride myself on the ability to work on anyone, any age, gender, or race.  

I want my clients to look stunning in a way that is not about the makeup and hair, but a glow from within— not so done that it’s distracting, but head-turning gorgeous, as a whole. I want people to wonder how it’s possible that they look that good.

** In addition to receiving an education in cosmetology and aesthetics, my formal education is in the biological sciences and global health (pre-med), from the University of California. Using the knowledge I have from working in labs in the past, I always use sterile techniques in order to prevent cross-contamination and to keep the products I use as clean and as sanitary as possible. Disposable products and tools are used whenever possible, and I always clean and sanitize all makeup products, brushes, tools and carrying cases before and after each appointment. In addition, if there are multiple clients in one party, I always make sure to only use thoroughly washed, cleansed and sanitized brushes, tools, and makeup on each individual client.
